We take our role of coming alongside our parents seriously—including the area of safety and security. All of our Children's Ministries programs are staffed by volunteers who are members of our ECPC congregation and who have completed a national background check and security clearance interview process.
Adult Volunteers
All adults who serve with our children (nurseries, Gospel Kids, or youth ministry) must:
Be members or regular attenders of East Cobb Presbyterian Church
Complete the following Child Security form:
Submit two references (form must be filled out by two non-family members)
Submit to a nation-wide background check. (Watch for an email from Checkr after you submit your volunteer application to complete the background check.)
Be interviewed by our staff and leadership
Please click the button above to fill out the first form. The second form (personal reference) should be sent to two non-family members (they can click the button above to fill out the form). Those forms will be submitted directly to our Children’s Ministries staff when they are filled out. Once these steps are completed, we can find a place to get you plugged in.
Teen Assistants
Children in junior high (6th-8th grade) whose parents are members of ECPC may serve in Children's Ministries as teen assistants. Teen assistants will always serve alongside two adult volunteers who have completed our security process. Parents must fill out this form granting permission for their child to serve.
Teen Volunteers
Teens in senior high (9th-12th grade) under 18 years of age, may be approved to serve alongside one approved adult as volunteers, but must be complete the security interview with a parent present. Like our adult volunteers, teen volunteers need to submit a volunteer application.
