Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in
all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction,
with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. (2 Corinthians 1:3-4).

The Parakaleo Care Team

The Parakaleo Care Team exists to provide biblical wisdom and one-another-care to hurting women at ECPC. It is a gospel centered ministry focused on walking beside struggling saints with encouragement and biblical truth. Parakaleo Care Team members serve the elders and deacons when officers are called to minister in situations where the absence of a woman is awkward and where the counsel and help required could benefit from the perspective of a woman. It is complementarian in nature, seeking to serve the leaders of the church as they shepherd women of the church.

Parakaleo is a ministry which seeks to meet the Bible’s one-anothering commands: encourage one another, exhort one another, bear one another’s burdens, disciple one another, instruct one another, etc. It is also a ministry that lives out Paul’s instruction in Titus 2 for older women to disciple and train younger women to live out the gospel in their daily lives. In sum, Parakaleo is an intentional form of discipleship, helping women engage with God in their circumstances.

How does it work? A woman who has a need is paired with a team member who will meet with her to talk about her struggle, helping her engage with God and His Word, seeking His wisdom and help, and walking alongside her in her journey.
